Some time ago I borrowed the book Worlds of Flow: A History of Hydrodynamics from the Bernoullis to Prandtl
by O. Darrigol. I somehow expected more than I found. Maybe it was my
English, or it was just the style of writing I couldn’t access. But
today, while reading Kundu, I found a reference to the 1911 Edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, where a history of hydromechanics covers the facts I am interested in up to the beginning of the last century. It is amazing what is available to us nowadays.
